1: Informative Articles

Using social media to communicate tax news or relevant updates to your clients is a great way to keep them informed about important tax topics. Think about what websites you frequent to stay up to date. Share them often by bookmarking them as resources.

Here are four to get you started:

2: Blogging

There are two major reasons why blogging is just as important as social media. For starters, it establishes you as an expert in the tax field. Secondly, it boosts your SEO, which organically drives traffic to your tax business website.

Is there any advice you can give clients? Is there any important tax information they need to know? Are there questions that are frequently asked? Social media is an excellent place to start, so be sure to share your posts there.

3: Infographics

Visuals work beautifully on social media. In addition to being eye-catching, infographics are an excellent way to relay complex information in an easy-to-read format. Furthermore, they occupy more space in social news feeds!

If you need ideas for what to make, you can find tax-related infographics on Google or create your own. And before you think you aren’t capable; I promise that you are! Graphic designers and fancy software aren’t required. All you need is a Canva account, and you’re set.

It’s easy to create stunning infographics with Canva’s preloaded templates, design elements, and features. Put together visual representations of some of your frequently asked questions, IRS information, or your blog or other articles. You should share them frequently once created.

4: Use The Go Live Feature

Live streaming is now available on most social media platforms. The following social media platforms provide the option to go live to your fans and followers: Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Snapchat. Furthermore, they typically notify your followers when you go live which increases activity and engagement.

You’ll generally get higher engagement rates with live videos, so try it! You shouldn’t miss any chance to interact with your followers, whether it’s a short stream or a planned show.

5: IRS Resources

In recent years, the IRS has become quite social media savvy. Including YouTube, they’re available across all platforms. Even better, subscriptions are emailed daily. This begs the question: are you subscribed to their email list? You definitely should be.

Take advantage of the IRS content that’s available for use! Utilize the content that has already been written and repurpose it for your benefit by reposting their releases on your blog and sharing their tips and YouTube videos. Simply put, it’s free, relevant content.

6: Publish Memes

Adding a little humor to your feeds is easy with Internet memes. It’s ok to use the content since it’s user generated. Find some fun memes you can incorporate into your content by doing some good old-fashioned Googling.

7: Communicate Your Product or Services

You should also include information about your services among the helpful articles and funny memes. What sets you apart from your competitors? Is there anything people should know about you? Engage your customers and promote your services 1-2 times a week.

8: Tax Preparer Profiles

Making connections and building relationships is the essence of social media. If your tax business has multiple preparers, highlight them. What is their specialty, where are they from? Do they have a favorite tax joke? Why did they become a tax preparer? Create content that humanizes you and your staff so that fans and followers can become acquainted with you.

9: Utilize Client Reviews

Posting reviews from satisfied clients on your website, Google Business Profile (GBP), and social media is an excellent way to market your tax business. You can utilize Canva to create a reusable template that allows you to showcase various reviews while keeping within your branding guidelines.

10: Check Out What Your Competitors Are Posting

Everyone borrows ideas. One of the easiest ways to get ideas for upcoming content is to look at what your competitors are posting on their social media. It’s not necessary to be 100% original.

What brand in your field do you admire that does well on social media? Take a look at their social media. You will become more inspired as you spend more time looking at other content sources.
