Don’t Use Spam Trigger Words
As a rule of thumb, you should not include any SPAM words in your email subject line because it will make your emails appear spammy to readers. When your recipients notice that you sending spammy emails, they will decline to open and read your emails henceforth. Besides that, using SPAM words also increases the possibility that your emails will end up in the spam inboxes of your recipients instead of their normal inboxes. Proof Read Your Emails

These are common sense tips that everybody should know and apply. The fact that you are posting them here shows that, unfortunately, not everybody knows or applies them.
I agree. It is the quality of the message that matters”. However, the frequency is important. I think 1 email per week is not enough. 1 email per day is too much. When I used email marketing, the frequency was 2 per week.
Spam triggered words? I know that Aweber, for example, analyses the content of the follow up message and tells you how many spam words you have and calculates the percentage you must not exceed.
One example of spam word is “weight loss”. This is tricky and may become annoying when the subject of your message is exactly that: lose weight.

The least we can do for other fellow online marketers is to educate them about the things we know so they won’t have to start from scratch and make the same mistakes.
